Dr Christopher Chan

BMedSc MBBS (Hons), FRACP

Dr. Christopher Chan graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science, followed by a medical degree with honours. He completed his internship and residency at Nepean Hospital before undergoing Basic Physician Training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. He then pursued Advanced Training in Endocrinology at Westmead Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr. Chan has a broad interest in all areas of endocrinology, including diabetes, weight management, metabolic health, thyroid and adrenal disorders, pituitary disease, osteoporosis, women’s health, and gestational endocrine issues.

Dr. Chan is passionate about providing holistic, patient-centred care. He is committed to practising evidence-based healthcare and involving patients in shared decision-making.

He is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia and the Australian Diabetes Society. Dr. Chan regularly attends national and international conferences to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Chan has been involved in clinical research in diabetes and general endocrinology, including the management of hyperglycaemia associated with enteral feeding, treatment of COVID-19 inpatients with dexamethasone-induced hyperglycaemia, and the use of adrenal vein sampling for investigation of primary aldosteronism. He has also been involved in several large clinical trials studying the use of incretin analogues for glycaemic control, weight management, and cardiovascular risk reduction. Additionally, he has been active in medical education, teaching medical students and junior doctors throughout his career, completing a Clinical Teaching Fellowship through the University of Sydney.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Chan enjoys swimming and spending time with his young family.
